MOMMA SOLD

momma.jpgThese beautiful little doves have made a home in my shrubbery.  Momma is very protective.

CLIMBING TREES SOLD

climbing-trees.jpgI grew up in the country near the Bayou Teche and these old oak trees served as a great source of entertainment.  We would climb up the low branches into the height of the tree and we were in another world.

THE WILLOW SOLD

three-egrets.jpgThis is a willow at Lake Martin.  There was actually only one bird under the willow.  I chose to give him company.

AFTER THE RAIN

rain.jpgI wanted to try to capture the reflection on the muddy road.  I love the warm colors.

img_2489.jpgI photographed the rookery at Avery Island and have painted it several times.  The egret, a long lanky bird is an ever changing species.  It can be very tall and thin.  At that time it appears to want to intimidate its prey.  It can also become a small clump of white.  Hiding from something?  (Note:  This painting and Egrets 3 was painted to hang together, or not).

MOSSY OAK SOLD

img_2484_2.jpgThe moss has all but overtaken this tree.  Not sure why I decided on the red background but it seemed to compliment the green moss.

THE TREE SOLD

img_2480_2.jpgAnyone who has driven through River Ranch in Lafayette has seen “The Tree”.  Its shape is so off balance.  You can only imagine what it has gone through to be left with the odd shape.

FRESHWATER FISH (Sold)

Obviously, I didn’t take an underwater photo to compose this scene.  I drew from photos in magazines.  It is only fitting to paint water with watercolor.

MUSCLE OAK

muscle-tree.jpgThis old oak tree appears to have its muscle on the ground.  Almost like it is ready to arm wrestle.  Was it beaten down only to recover?
